Bamboo Below Sea Level: Creating the St. Charles Collection

St. Charles Avenue: A bustling, iconic street known for both its historic presence and residential diversity and around-the-clock activities. Tourists and locals alike enjoy the essence of the street as it brings favorite memories of delicious dinners, happy hours, southern hospitality, and Mardi Gras. It’s a monument of New Orleans culture.

Just shy of 8 miles, the avenue is a long stretch of action-packed parks, prestigious college campuses, stunning porches, and 19th and 20th century mansions. But, it was the daily grind of the streetcar tracks that inspired the design and need for the St. Charles Collection. So we went to the design table to intentionally create a line for women that would earn the title “a wardrobe staple.”  When we asked around, the conversation always revealed that the staple pieces should fit perfectly, be incredibly comfortable, durable and long-lasting, and most importantly, versatile for every moment in life. In brainstorming, the similarities to our best-selling men’s line, the Carrollton Collection, were evident. The point in which St. Charles Avenue and S. Carrollton intersect on the map of New Orleans stood true. In creating the perfect crossover collection, we’re finally able to bring everyday favorites to women at all coordinates across the country.

Plus, the St. Charles Collection embraces everything there is to love about St. Charles Avenue. The pieces make transitioning through a juxtaposition of activities as do the streetcars through neighborhoods along the avenue: The crew neck can take you from a meeting in the Central Business District (CBD) to dinner and drinks in the the Garden District.
