Cool Off - New Orleans Style

Cool off New Orleans-style with a sno-ball! Like shaved ice but better, this smooth + icy sweet treat is perfect for summer. Not in New Orleans? Make your own sno-ball with two exclusive recipes, courtesy of Imperial Woodpecker Sno-Balls!

Blueberries and Cream Sno-Ball

  • 2 cups of blueberries (frozen (thawed) or fresh)
  • 1 cup of granulated white sugar
  • 1 cup of water

  1. Add all ingredients to a pot. Stir and bring to boil on medium high heat, then reduce heat to  simmer for 10 minutes until blueberries break down.
  2. Place a fine mesh strainer over a bowl and pour in the mixture. Press blueberries down to get as much blueberry syrup as possible.
  3. Let mixture cool for 15-20 minutes, then add 1 can of evaporated milk and 1 cup of simple syrup and voila, you have blueberry cream syrup!
  4. To make shaved ice, blend ice cubes in a blender until it’s a smooth, icy consistency.
  5. Pour syrup over the ice and Enjoy!

Strawberry Basil Sno-Ball
